this and that

I'm feeling very lucky to have today off!  I work as a medical transcriptionist from home and sometimes it is harder than working outside of the home because my stamps are sitting a foot way from me.  I also have a 5-year old who loves to chat!  Anyhoo, I'm trying to get the house whipped into shape for company on Saturday and Sunday.  In between loads of laundry and dusting, I put this card together.  I had the Baja Breeze (very sad about this color retiring!) brads sitting on top of a stack of Not Quite Navy cardstock and I thought the two colors worked well together.  I was right don't you think?  I dusted off my Apricot Appeal as well.  The base is Sahara Sand which, of course, goes with almost anything.  I wish you all a happy and safe 4th of July!!!!

French and Floral

My husband asked me to make a card for one of his employees and I thought I'd use one of my new background stamps from Stampin' Up!  I really love this one because it is somewhat feminine and can be used for so many occasions.  It's called En Francais and you can order it HERE.  I also used Botanical Blooms from the 2009 Sale-A-Bration Mini Catalog.  LOVE this stamp set too!  It's really hard for me to settle on a particular color or stamp set and even harder for me to decide which embellishments to use.  I haven't always been this way but when your mind is running a mile a minute it's hard to focus right?  I hope everyone is having a great summer so far.  We are in the middle of some nice AZ heat and I am being sarcastic when I say "nice".

Yes, I've been a baaaaaaad blogger!

Life has just been a little crazy and crafting had to take a backseat.  So I was blog-surfing tonight (just can't sleep) and I came acrossthis challenge over at the Clean & Simple blog.  This is my first time participating in this challenge.  I love the circle sketch that Natasha came up with!  I'm hoping to challenge myself more each time I sit down to make a card or a scrapbook page.  Having people like Natasha for inspiration should help!  :)

Here is my version of the card:

Since you've been gone....

Oooops!  I mean, since I've been gone!

I'm excited about the new year!  In the last few months, our family has gone through job changes and a move to a new city.  We're excited to see what 2009 brings and excited to start the next part of our journey.

With the new Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer 2009 Catalog and Idea Book, I look forward to posting lots of projects and hopefully some scrapbook pages as well!  Here is a sample featuring a new set called Good Friend. (Copyright Stampin' Up!)  Adorable right?

Well I hope I still have some readers left and I hope 2009 is treating everyone well so far!Good_Friend_card
